Welcome to our latest blog post where we are introducing the John Deere - Styled Model B.
This is a recent addition to the Tamar Vintage Tractors Classic Collection and was acquired from a local collection. It appears to have started its working life in Somerset and has remained in Devon throughout its working life.
This pretty little John Deere has a 2 cylinder engine, powerlift and a 6 speed gear box. It also has the tricycle wheel set up which makes for a very interesting drive!
The John Deere model B is one of the smaller tractors in my 'green collection'. It was originally introduced to meet the needs of row crop farmers who didn't require a tractor as large as the model A. The original model B was in production until the end of 1938 and is referred to as an 'unstyled' model. In 1939 production began on the early styled model B.
