1984 Land Rover 110 V8
Tamar Vintage Tractors - 1984 Land Rover 110 V8
Here we have a genuine 1984 Land Rover 110 County Station Wagon V8.
This rare early Land Rover spent many years working on an estate before being parked up. As one of the first 110 models produced, it represents an important step in Land Rover's development. The 110 followed on from the Stage 1 V8 109, which still used leaf springs, whereas this model benefits from the later coil-sprung suspension.
Powered by the 3.5-litre Rover V8 engine, it runs well and is equipped with power steering, a roof rack, and a desirable capstan winch driven from the crankshaft.
Please note that this is not a "drive away" vehicle and will require some work to bring it up to a roadworthy standard. From inspection, the chassis appears very solid overall. It will require two bulkhead outriggers, although the bulkhead itself is in very good condition.
There is an issue within the front axle, which I suspect may be a broken half shaft, as the vehicle will only drive when diff lock is engaged. It also occasionally jumps out of high range.
Overall, it should not take a huge amount of work to get this Land Rover back on the road, and it would make an excellent basis for a restoration project.
The vehicle comes with its current V5 registration document. Being of the correct age, it is also eligible for export to the USA if desired. A rare and worthwhile project that would make a fantastic addition to any Land Rover collection.
Based in Tavistock, Devon. Nationwide delivery can be arranged.
