This is a lovely example of a 1942 Allis-Chalmers Model U, presented as an older restoration. The Allis U is one of my favourite veteran tractors — known for its distinctive exhaust note and effortless pulling power.
 
Powered by a 4-cylinder petrol/TVO engine, the Allis U was widely regarded as one of the best TVO engines of its time. This particular tractor is free from any frost damage or fluid mixing issues.
 
It starts easily by handle and settles into that signature Allis U exhaust tone. It pulls strongly in all gears and is a real pleasure to drive.
 
The tractor sits on four new tyres, and the tinwork is straight and clean throughout. There is some light surface rust on the rear wings, but overall, the tractor presents very well.
 
It comes with a current V5 and is ready to be enjoyed.
