Field Marshall Series 1
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Field Marshall Series 1
A straight and honest example of the iconic single-cylinder diesel Series 1 Field Marshall, featuring the desirable high-top road gear.
This tractor has been part of a small private collection for several years, and prior to that formed part of the renowned Toddington Manor Collection of the late Sir Neville Bowman-Shaw.
It starts easily with a strong swing on the handle, then settles and runs nicely.
The engine block is free from any signs of frost damage and is currently filled with antifreeze.
The tinwork has been over-painted in the past, but remains very straight with minimal corrosion.
Tyres are older but still in reasonable condition.
Out on the road it pulls well, with an impressive turn of speed in top gear.
The brake works as well as you could expect for a Series 1 Field Marshall, though the steering does have some play.
The number plate shows as active online, but there is no current V5 for this tractor.
Overall, this is a genuine and solid example — an excellent investment or a great project to enjoy.
