Tamar Vintage Tractors - Ford 2000 Pre-Force with Selene 4WD Conversion

This is a very rare Ford 2000, it is an earlier pre-force model as determined by the early front grill. This tractor is a Basildon built 2000 and would appear to have been built as an export model as it features the wide wings on the rear.

It’s a very interesting tractor, judging by the writing on the bonnet it was supplied by ‘Tiefenthaler Landtechnik’ a tractor dealer that is still operating in Austria today.

What makes this tractor particularly interesting is it has been fitted with a Selene 4wd conversion kit, this features a drop box that takes drive from the under the handbrake via a prop shaft to the from axle, a kit very similar to that fitted by County.

The nature of this conversion makes it a very handy little tractor and it utilises the standard steering set-up, giving it a very good steering lock and excellent traction.

The tractor has also been fitted - from new - with and underslung exhaust as the bonnet doesn’t feature a cut out for an up right one.

The tractor starts easily and is a real joy to drive, it’s fitted with a foot throttle and has a good turn of speed, the brakes are good and the engine pulls well.

As part of our pre-sale inspection, we have fitted a later spin on engine oil filter conversion kit to it, as the old wide filters on these are notoriously difficult to seal! This tractor is up together and ready for work or play.

The tinwork has an excellent patina to it which we would love to see left as it is.

This is a really unique tractor and is a joy to drive!
