This is a genuine and original example of the Ford 5000 Select-O-Speed.
 
Introduced by Ford in 1959, the Select-O-Speed transmission offers 10 forward speeds and two reverse speeds, all without the need for a clutch. Instead, it features an ‘inching pedal’ that allows for smooth manoeuvring and functions like a semi-automatic system.
 
While the Select-O-Matic system had some initial reliability issues, leading many farmers to convert their tractors back to manual transmissions, models that remain intact with this system have become quite rare.
 
This particular Ford 5000 runs well and has been upgraded with a later engine block. The tinwork is in excellent condition, and the tyres are in good shape. It also comes with a pick-up hitch for added convenience.
 
Additionally, a cab frame and roof are included in the sale.
