Tamar Vintage Tractors - Fordson Super Major
 
A well-presented example of a Mark 2 Fordson Super Major, this tractor represents one of the final versions produced before the introduction of the “New Performance Super Major.” It is fitted with the desirable Minimec inline fuel pump, which enhances both power and overall performance.
 
This tractor has been owned locally and used on a smallholding for light duties as well as occasional road runs. It has clearly been maintained with care. The paintwork, although not recent, still retains an attractive shine and gives the tractor a smart appearance.
 
The tyres are in very good condition all round, and it is equipped with the sought-after pressed steel front wheels rather than the heavier cast type. Mechanically, the tractor starts well from cold, runs smoothly, and performs well through all gears. The brakes are effective, and it handles confidently both in the yard and on the road.
 
It is also fitted with “live drive,” allowing the transmission to be stopped independently while keeping the PTO and hydraulics in operation, a useful feature for practical work.
 
Overall, this is a tidy and capable tractor, equally suited for light agricultural use, shows, or road runs.
It is supplied with a current V5 registration document.
