John Deere B
* NOW SOLD * Tamar Vintage Tractors - 1942 'Styled' John Deere B
This 1942 ‘styled’ John Deere B was originally sent to the UK during World War II under the Lend-Lease scheme, where it was delivered to Holly Lodge Farm in Manningtree, Essex.
It then entered preservation in the late 1970s at Mucking Hall Farm near Southend-on-Sea.
In 1991, the tractor was acquired as a rolling chassis along with a collection of parts. It was then lovingly restored and exhibited at various shows.
Since its restoration, it has been part of a few private collections and remains a proud example of John Deere’s heritage.
The 2-cylinder hand-start engine starts easily and runs nicely, delivering the distinctive John Deere "pop-pop" sound. The foot brakes work well, the hand clutch and steering are in good order, and it has an impressive turn of speed and a fantastic turning circle thanks to the tricycle formation.
The paintwork, now over 30 years old, has aged well and still holds a lovely shine.
This tractor comes with a current V5 and is ready to be enjoyed, whether for showing, light use, or simply as a piece of agricultural history.
Based in Tavistock, Devon. Nationwide delivery can be arranged.
Part exchanges welcome.
