A superb example of the ever-popular Massey Ferguson 240, powered by the reliable Perkins three-cylinder diesel engine.
 
The MF 240 succeeded the iconic MF 135 and featured a gearbox approximately four inches longer, allowing a bit more space for the operator! 
 
This tractor is fitted with an excellent, fully glazed cab, complete with insulated cladding on the roof and rear wings to help reduce noise levels, as well as a heater for added comfort in colder weather.
 
This is the 6-speed model and is fitted with the larger 14.9/12 rear tyres, providing a reasonable road speed.
 
The tractor starts easily and runs and drives extremely well. The hour meter is showing just under 2,600 hours, which appears to be genuine.
 
The PTO and hydraulics are all operating correctly, while the steering and brakes are both in excellent order.
 
Overall, this is a very tidy and honest little outfit, equally suited to work, shows, or simply to be enjoyed as part of a collection.
