A very unusual and charming machine. Powered front wheel, driven by a JAP single-cylinder petrol engine.
 
Produced in the 1940’s, post war by S E Opperman Ltd of Hertfordshire. They Opperman Motocart was promoted at the time as ‘a satisfactory tool with an economic performance that would tackle all reasonable work it was required to carry out.’ As a quote from the brochure proudly proclaims:
 
‘Materials of the finest quality, much scientific research and high class engineering design have gone into the manufacture of every Opperman Motocart.’
 
It remains in remarkably good and original condition. It starts easily and runs well. This cart also includes - but is not currently fitted - a manual tipping rear for the bed.
 
This Opperman comes with a current V5, perfect for taking this eye-catching piece of history to shows. (Though might not be the first choice for a road run!) 
 
Very usually, and quite a joy to drive!
