The time has come to move on our 2-door Range Rover Classic.
 
This is an early model with a Suffix A chassis number, making it one of the very first production examples built.
 
I discovered the Range Rover many years ago in a dilapidated state in a barn in Cornwall, where it had spent its working life on a farm. It was originally supplied new by Ranleigh Garage of St Austell, a Rover main dealer.
 
Around 10 years ago, the Range Rover underwent a full nut-and-bolt rebuild. The engine was completely rebuilt, while the chassis was shot-blasted, repaired and repainted. All the axles and brakes were overhauled, and a considerable amount of work was carried out on the body. Many new-old-stock panels were painstakingly sourced to complete the restoration. The interior was then professionally recovered using period-correct materials.
 
Once completed, the Range Rover was used for several events and promotions before being parked in a heated warehouse. We have now recommissioned it and it is once again presented for sale.
 
Although an MOT is not a requirement for a vehicle of this age, we have had it MOT tested to give a prospective new owner additional confidence in its condition.
 
The Range Rover has mellowed beautifully over the years and still has a stunning presence. It has covered less than 500 miles since its rebuild and is running beautifully, driving exactly as these great 1970s cars should.
 
It is powered by the iconic 3.5-litre Rover V8, coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive.
 
Any inspection is welcome. This is a true icon of British motoring history and a particularly significant early example of the Range Rover Classic.
