This is a very interesting 1954 Renault tractor, featuring a factory-fitted Perkins P4 4-cylinder diesel engine. Recently arrived from a local collection, it started up immediately with the addition of a new battery and runs well.
 
This is a lovely original example, the tractor carries an attractive patina and retains its original tinwork, which shows only surface rust.
 
The Perkins P4 engine, rebuilt some time ago, starts easily and runs well with no signs of frost damage or fluid mixing.
 
It sits on a new set of tyres and drives well with good brakes and a good turn of speed on the road. The hydraulic lift system is in working order and includes a hitch, adding to its practical appeal.
 
Smaller in size and weight—comparable to a Massey Ferguson 35—this Renault is easy to handle and transport. It has been used in recent years at vintage working days and would make an eye-catching and unusual addition to any collection or rally field.
