Ferguson TED20 with Banana Loader – A Charming and Unusual Ferguson Project

At Tamar Vintage Tractors, we're always excited when something a little different comes through our doors, and this Ferguson TED20 fitted with a Ferguson Banana Loader and grain bucket is certainly one of those machines.
Over the years we've owned many TED20s, but this is the first we've had complete with a Banana Loader setup quite like this. It's an eye-catching arrangement that adds plenty of character to an already iconic Ferguson tractor.
This charming little outfit has spent many years as part of a private collection before recently arriving with us. We've carried out some recommissioning work to bring it back into running order, including fitting two new front tyres and a new battery. The tractor now starts readily, runs nicely, drives well through all gears, and benefits from good brakes.
The loader is fully operational and equipped with a changeover valve, allowing operation of both the loader and the tipping grain bucket. Importantly, it also retains the correct rear frame required to lock the hydraulic system and enable the loader to function as originally intended.
While the tractor is perfectly usable and presents well, there is still scope for a new owner to carry out some further fettling and take it to the next level. It would make a fantastic exhibit at vintage rallies and agricultural shows, while also offering an enjoyable and rewarding project for a Ferguson enthusiast.
A thorough service would be a worthwhile next step, and the electrical system will require some attention, as the dynamo is currently not wired up. The good news is that the tinwork remains very sound, the rear tyres still have plenty of useful life left in them, and overall the tractor represents a straightforward and honest restoration project.
Adding to its appeal, we also have the original buff log book that accompanies the tractor—a wonderful piece of its history and provenance.
