This week, we're excited to hand over the spotlight to our youngest apprentice, who’s been busy restoring a true gem—his very own Farmall Super Cub. This charming tractor has quickly become a family favourite, and it’s easy to see why!

Bought last year as a non-runner, the Farmall Super Cub has been a rewarding project for our team. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed bringing it back to life, and now it’s in great working order, ready for its next adventure. What makes it even better? It’s the perfect size for a few first driving lessons. The compact size, sharp turning circle, and offset driving position make it an absolute joy to drive, and it's an ideal choice for anyone just getting started.

A Closer Look at the Farmall Super Cub

The Farmall Super Cub is powered by a 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with an electric start, making it reliable and easy to get going. It boasts 3 forward gears and 1 reverse, offering just the right amount of power and control for smaller tasks or getting around the farm.

The Legacy of Farmall

Farmall was originally a model name and later evolved into a brand of tractors produced by International Harvester (IH)—an American company that played a pivotal role in the mechanisation of agriculture in the US. From the 1920s through the 1980s, Farmall tractors were primarily designed for row-crop farming, but IH also produced specialised models for orchards, fairways, and other unique farming needs.

The Farmall Cub, which was IH’s smallest tractor, was manufactured between 1947 and 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky. To meet European demand, production expanded in 1955 to St. Dizier, France. In 1958, the French-built model received an upgrade, becoming the Super Cub, fitted with a more powerful engine—until production ended in 1962.

A Tractor With Heart

The Farmall Super Cub represents more than just a piece of machinery; it’s a piece of history. For our team, it’s also a reminder of the satisfaction that comes with restoring something to its former glory. We’re incredibly proud of the work our son has put into this project, and we look forward to seeing more of what he can achieve.

Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you soon for another Showcase Sunday! 🌟
